Honestly, I wasn't planning on doing another beer review, but this one was just an embarrassment. I opened it up as a little incentive to get me through tomato-chopping hours. It's called Hoser Juice, okay? And on the can it's got AI-generated beaver, canoe—the works. Against my better judgment, I went for it solely because of the name. Big mistake.
Let's get into it. The colour is a deep orange bordering brown, as is typical of a triple IPA. It smells sour and sweet, at least right now, after I've already sipped some. The flavour is so overbearing that I can't fully differentiate between taste and smell. That is to say that it is full-on cloying. Not sure which hoser takes this as fuel, but they must be some kind of sweety-pie. This sugary drink is not what comes to mind when I think Hoser Juice. Dry and lightly hopped is what I was expecting, like if you had a strong IPA version of a Molson Canadian but it's actually good. Well, Canadian is actually sweet, but nothing compares to this. If I wanted this much sugar and alcohol, well, wine was the next aisle over. What else can I say about this beer? Marginal head.
What I will say is that, for all the boys brewing “juicy” IPAs, this one actually tastes like juice. What I will say is: 10.8%. I'm feeling like a good-and-ready hoser right now.
Flavours: Sugar, slight alcohol with beer undertones.
Emotions: Regret, mild drunkenness.
Feeling: Fackin' good enough, eh.
P.S. Four hours later, I think I have a hoser headache.
